Celebrating One Year: Reed’s Cake Smash Session

There’s nothing quite like watching a little one grow through their first year, and Reed’s journey has been extra special for me to document! From his mama’s maternity session to his newborn and six-month milestone photos, it has been such a joy capturing this sweet boy’s story. Now, we’re celebrating his first birthday with the cutest cake smash session—and I couldn’t be more excited to share these moments!

A Journey from Bump to Birthday

I first met Reed’s family when I photographed his mom’s maternity session. We captured some beautiful moments of her cradling her baby bump, eagerly awaiting his arrival. Then, when Reed made his debut, I had the privilege of capturing his newborn session—those tiny fingers, sleepy snuggles, and sweet yawns that melt your heart.

At six months old, Reed was full of personality. Bright-eyed and curious, he gave me the best smiles as he showed off his growing independence...but also gave us some grumpy times, as well :) Watching him grow from a sleepy newborn to a giggling, expressive little guy has been so fun!

The Cake Smash: A Sweet and Messy Celebration

Fast forward to now—Reed’s first birthday cake smash! We set up a vibrant red setup that perfectly matched his playful spirit. The moment the cake was placed in front of him, he was all in. At first, he was a little unsure, carefully poking at the frosting, but once he got a taste, there was no stopping him! There were frosting-covered fingers, giggles, and a whole lot of messy fun.

Exciting News: Baby Sister on the Way!

One of the most exciting parts of this session was knowing that I’ll soon be photographing Reed’s baby sister! His family is growing, and I am beyond honored to be capturing their newest addition’s newborn session soon. I can already picture Reed as the sweetest big brother, and I can't wait to document the love and joy this new chapter brings for their family.

Reed’s cake smash was the perfect way to wrap up his first year, and I’m so grateful to have been a part of his journey from the very beginning. Happy first birthday, Reed! Here’s to many more milestones to come.
