McCoy’s One Year Cake Smash Session

There’s nothing sweeter than celebrating a first birthday with a cake smash session...and McCoy’s milestone photos couldn’t have been more fun!

We started the session with family photos, which is one of my favorite ways to begin. It’s the perfect way to capture those priceless connections before diving into the mess of the cake smash. McCoy was so adorable and his parents beamed with pride. Together they created the most heartwarming family portraits that will be treasured for years to come.

Once it was time for the cake smash, McCoy was all in! He had the happiest little personality, which made photographing him such a joy. One thing that stood out right away was his amazing head of hair. Seriously, this little guy has the best hair I’ve ever seen on a one-year-old! It even made for a few funny moments during the shoot when it got stuck to the balloons we had set up for his backdrop. It was the perfect reminder that these sessions are all about capturing real, genuine moments.

McCoy had the best time exploring his cake, and he wasn’t shy about getting his hands (and face!) messy. These are the kinds of photos that families love looking back on...pure joy, laughter, and a little bit of frosting everywhere.

At the end of the session, McCoy’s mom shared how much she loved the photos, and her kind review truly meant so much to me. There’s nothing better than knowing these memories will be cherished forever.
